| SortLogic SYSTEMS Expands Strategic Technology Partnership with Avalon
International, Inc.
LAS VEGAS, November 14, 2006 - Advancing the digital check clearing
capabilities of the financial industry, SortLogic SYSTEMS, a division of
Omni-Soft, Inc., and Avalon International, Inc. today announced expansion of
their partnership to encompass a wider range of technology components from
SortLogic SYSTEMS. The companies made the announcement at the BAI Retail
Delivery Conference & Expo at The Mandalay Resort.
Under their expanded agreement, Avalon International will integrate and resell
the SortLogic Simulator, SortLogic Desktop Evaluator and SortLogic Virtual
Capture software components, providing IBM CPCS and SuperMICR users with
connectivity for leveraging their legacy check processing investments, while
migrating toward electronic clearing and image exchange.
SortLogic Simulator provides developers of Windows-based applications - such as
those for Check 21 - with the ability to use a bank's existing sort programs to
qualify documents like an actual IBM 3890/XP transport. SortLogic Desktop
Evaluator provides users with the ability to test and evaluate sort patterns by
processing code-lines read from a text file using sort programs on a desktop
PC, rather than an actual reader-sorter. This simplifies the creation, editing,
testing, debugging and deployment of sort programs. SortLogic Virtual Capture
provides the ability to import remotely captured check data and images on the
same rails as current paper is captured.
Avalon will integrate the SortLogic components with its ImagePoint payment
processing system. Built from the ground up using Microsoft .NET, ImagePoint
takes advantage of Check 21 to provide a comprehensive, integrated solution for
front and back-counter branch capture, merchant capture, remote deposit
capture, check image exchange, long-term Meta Data storage, image archive,
duplicate checking and remittance processing. The ImagePoint Microsoft .NET
architecture provides Capture Anywhere/Process Anywhere functionality, and
Avalon's use of Microsoft Smart Client offers instant offshore processing
capability.
"The current and future success of SortLogic SYSTEMS is a function not only of
our innovative software, but technology partners who can deliver the components
in a very demanding environment," explained Omni-Soft President Clint Shank.
"This expanded agreement underscores SortLogic's and Avalon's confidence in the
growing need for tools and enterprise check processing solutions to improve
systems connectivity as financial institutions migrate toward Check 21 and
electronic payments initiatives."
"Our partnership with SortLogic is enabling us to leverage connectivity
components in new and interesting ways to enhance our solutions and empower our
customers," said Avalon President Seth Narayanan. "Helping banks bridge legacy
systems and emerging technologies is pivotal to our continued success, and our
partnership with SortLogic is helping ensure that Avalon continues to shape the
future of electronic check clearing."
